TutorAI for Older Adults
AI-powered learning companion for building digital skills in older adults

problem
Older adults often struggle with navigating smartphone interfaces, understanding app behaviors, and resolving doubts while performing real tasks. Existing learning flows are insufficiently adaptive to their pace, context, and accessibility needs, leading to dependence on others, fear of making mistakes, and discontinuation of learning. TutorAI is an existing AI-powered learning platform. However, its current experience assumes a baseline level of digital confidence that does not translate well to older adults.
solution
TutorAI for Older Adults reimagines the existing TutorAI platform with a focused lens on digital skill learning for older adults. The experience adapts TutorAI’s AI capabilities to provide contextual, task-based guidance tailored to users’ existing skills, language preferences, and comfort levels. Learning support is embedded within real app interactions and delivered through multiple formats such as text, voice, and visual walkthroughs.
The feature aims to support continued digital skill learning through adaptive, contextual AI guidance.
TutorAI uses artificial intelligence to analyze user intent, learning history, and interaction patterns to generate personalized learning paths. Rather than positioning AI as an instructor, the system treats it as a learning companion, available when users are unsure, stuck, or curious.
The platform supports learning across real-world scenarios such as searching the internet, using messaging apps, understanding app interfaces, and navigating common smartphone tasks. Guidance is delivered through step-by-step assistance, simplified explanations, and alternative content formats based on user comfort.
The system focuses on reducing dependency, building confidence, and enabling continuity in learning, especially for users who are often overlooked in AI-driven education products.
